I regretfully report that the Great Earl Grey/Chocolate experiment was not a success. Perhaps I should have put more gin in there? Nah, Gin doesn’t go with chocolate either.

I’m having a bit right now, and I like it! Chacun a son gout, as it were.
Gin isn’t particularly good with tea, but Stroh’s dark rum with tea? Otherworldly delicious. Maybe the earl grey didn’t work out, but the tea and rum with sugar will not disappoint, if you see your way to trust the recommendation again.
ps–did we all just assume John was drinking tea in the photo? Every English person I know likes coffee, too…

Gin goes with chocolate, as long as you have enough gin. No half measures. Moderation in no things I always say.

I don’t think I can get Stroh’s, but I’ll keep an eye out for it. Tea and rum I can definitely see working; also, if you got just the right rye, like Centennial, that would work with a decent strong black tea like Assam. Of course decent people put nothing in Darjeeling except a bit of sugar or milk (if they must).

Oh, and it’s a safe bet John was drinking tea. He was actually a notorious tea bore.
