Oh, you're going to SPECS, aren't you?!!?

I would get the Glemorangie in the Burgundy Wine Cask. That is the only place I've ever seen it in real life, and as a scotch drinker with a love for all of the scotches above, I can tell you that it is interesting, fantastic, and unusual enough to be a birthday gift!!!

dr. nic--

Tell your husband to try the 12-year Macallan. Mr. Henry and the late departed Rick Rosen agreed wholeheartedly that it beat the 18-year hands down. It had more edge. The appropriate analogy is the difference between the Beatles original Capitol recordings in mono versus the later releases in stereo. The mono have more bite and growl.

Oh, many thanks to Mr. Henry. My father does, in fact, drink Talisker. That was his first love in Scotch. I will sally forth to look at this bountiful array of Scotches you have laid before me. Fear not, for I live in Houston, home of the world's largest liquor store. (Their towering row of Scotch, it is awe inspiring.)

My husband had the delight at dinner yesterday to sample an 18 year old Macallan and pronounced it divine.
