Manolo’s Friday Miscellany

Manolo says, here are the few things that may perhaps amuse…

He could breakdance in a tutu and fright wig on American Idol and STILL be the coolest chef on TV. He’s a Magnificent Beast and good for the world.

It seems like half the shows on Japanese television are cooking shows

We loosely define weird food as anything that the typical American would likely find odd or disgusting, but that someone somewhere on this planet would eat and consider normal.

  1. I can’t get the first link to work. My guess is Jamie Oliver. Am I right?

  3. The Bourdain, he is most correct! The Mario is magnificent! Silly, serious, crazy- whatever the mode he is in at the moment, he is always delightful. The Nascar thing disturbed me a bit, but he is actually good for the world- the love of the ingredients, his desire that good food be for all not just a few, coupled with the joy and abandon he brings to the kitchen is delightful to watch.

  4. I love Mario. An individual who stays true to himself, and true to the simple, elegant dishes he creates. I bought “Molto Italiano” last month, and it’s the very first cookbook I read from cover to cover, over the course of a day, and sat mesmerized by the rich simplicity of his beautifully rustic recipes. Molto Brava!
